The bridge:
Turning the individual experiences of young people during lockdown into a shared story that could be heard by a wider audience.
My role:
Commissioned Performance Poet for English National Opera’s The Way I See It, developed in partnership with Arts Council England and Google Arts & Culture.
What I created:
A new poem weaving together the voices, stories and creative responses submitted by young people across the country.
Why it mattered:
Rather than speaking for young people, the commission brought their different perspectives together into one coherent creative response, giving lived experience a platform during an extraordinary moment.
