Barbican Art Box 2014 - 2015

The bridge:
Connecting photography, architecture and young people’s perspectives through poetry and performance.

My role:
Resident poet and workshop facilitator during a six-month Barbican Art Box residency responding to Constructing Worlds: Photography and Architecture in the Modern Age.

What I created:
Poems responding to Constructing Worlds: Photography and Architecture in the Modern Age, alongside a public speaking workshop for young photographers.

Why it mattered:
The residency created connections between different creative disciplines while helping young people develop the confidence to articulate their own ideas and perspectives. 

Skills shown:
Workshop facilitation, youth engagement, public speaking, poetry, performance coaching, cultural education and responding creatively to visual art.
